Khalid served as the Chair of Construction Management Department and lead the College of Architecture and Construction Management as college’s Interim Dean at Kennesaw State University, one of the 50 largest public Universities in the US. Khalid is currently a Professor Emeritus of Construction Management and lifetime member of American Society of Civil Engineers. Besides two books he has 70 plus peer-reviewed research and scholarly publications to his credit, in renowned professional journals and peer reviewed conference proceedings. In his university career Khalid received several distinguished teaching and leadership awards from Kennesaw State and University System of Georgia. He received Outstanding Educator Award from the Associated Schools of Construction. The Construction Industry in the State of Georgia established Dr. Khalid Siddiqi Endowed Scholarship at Kennesaw State University to acknowledge his commitment to excellence in construction education and student success.
Khalid earned his Ph.D. in Civil & Environment Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology. His masters in Structural Engineering and Construction are from Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok Thailand. Khalid completed bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with Highest Honors and was awarded gold medal by NED University. Prior to his academic career spanning twenty-five years, Khalid served the Construction Industry for fifteen plus years. His industry experience included working with development agencies and institutions like World Bank, US Army Environmental Policy Institute, Public Housing, Master Planning, and Building Permit agencies. Khalid is one of the founding members of NED Alumni Association of Georgia, and Architectural Engineering Institute of American Society of Civil Engineers.
Khalid is a Lifetime Member of the American Council of Construction Education (ACCE), an educator, accreditor and a construction industry professional. Khalid is the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the ACCE, the largest accreditation agency for Construction Management Programs recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. ACCE is authorized to accredit associate, bachelor, master’s degrees, in addition to apprenticeship programs and single purpose institutions.
