Mohammad Shahid Khan is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from NED; graduating class of 1989. Shortly after graduating he immigrated to America to start his business career and got married in America as well. Taking his engineering background Shahid became very successful in developing commercial properties.
Founder and CEO of Shahani Inc, Shahid owns his own fuel distribution company in various states in New England; owning a number of properties and QSR franchises. Shahani Inc has developed into a family business, creating different paths for his two daughters and two sons; Shahid successfully created generational wealth for his family and an everlasting legacy of his passion.
Shahid has been involved with NED in North America and NED New England for many years. Alongside the involvement of NED Shahid has maintained a strong Islamic presence in various Masjid communities in Connecticut, and is currently the President on the Board of Members of Shoreline Islamic Center. Shahid’s commitment to community involvement began in NED when he was his class representative for PSF; where he held the position of organizing and coordinating events. From there Shahid has done
numerous fundraisers and sponsorship to his local communities as well. Shahid went on to be a basketball sponsor for Hamden Fathers, Papa John’s Co-op President, Board member of Hamden Islamic center, has held local voter registration on his properties and more. Shahid has a long history of being involved in communities and looks forward to help NEDNA community.
